Math has never been so beautiful!
See the world through the mathematician's lens of symmetry and learn some of the math behind molecules, crystals, and wallpaper patterns in a new mathematical art exhibit. Images were created by visiting mathematics professor Frank Farris and Carleton College student Saewon Eum.
Exhibit Opening and Public Lecture
- 4:40 p.m.–lecture by the artist, Walter Library, Room 402
- 5:30 p.m. –Exhibit opening, Walter Library, Great Hall (second floor)
The events are free and open to the public.
The "Seeing Symmetry" exhibit will run through Friday, March 8, 2013, in Walter Library, Great Hall.
Presented by the University of Minnesota School of Mathematics and the Institute for Mathematics and its Applications in cooperation with the University of Minnesota Libraries.
