Study renewable energy in Scandinavia during May Session 2013!
Meet the faculty leader and find out how you can be a part of a CSE Global Seminar to Scandinavia at an upcoming information meeting.
May Session 2013 CSE Global Seminar Information Meeting
Energy Production Methods in Scandinavia (EE 3940)
Monday, Dec. 10, 2012
Noon-1 p.m.
Mechanical Engineering Building, Room 1130
Free lunch will be served!
This popular study abroad seminar is led by award-winning teaching professor Paul Imbertson (electrical and computer engineering). He has taken several groups of Minnesota students to Scandinavia to explore energy production methods, and how culture and beliefs guide our energy policies. The 2013 seminar will study existing and planned energy production methods and energy usage in Iceland, Denmark, and Norway.
This CSE Global Seminar is from May 21-June 10, 2013.
The seminar will focus on how energy production and usage patterns are linked to specific details of location; and how the issues of production, usage, and environmental concerns have created the current tensions that are driving new energy planning. Site visits will include research universities, wind turbine manufacturers, power plants, wind farms, hydro facilities, and solar component manufacturers.
