Science and mathematics teaching internship in Thailand offered May-June 2013

Spend three weeks in Thailand!

This May, the STEM Education Center is offering eight, three-credit, three-week internships in Thailand teaching science and mathematics.

The application deadline is March 15 or when openings are filled.

Selected participants will teach as a member of a team made up of graduate students from the Science Education Center at Srinakharwinirot University and Thai teachers. The Thai graduate students will stay for the three weeks, and the schools provide the housing and meals during the school week. A variety of Thai schools are available ranging from schools in or near Bangkok to schools in mid-size cities, and rural schools in the countryside.

This year the opportunity is offered to students in science and mathematics education, and juniors and seniors in the sciences, environmental studies, mathematics and engineering who wish to experience teaching in another culture. Participants who are from non-education programs will be provided an introduction to the student-centered teaching methods that the Thais wish to learn to employ.

There are eight positions available. You will receive three credits for CI 5540.
