CERN & Zermatt

Today was quite a adventurous day to be sure. We awoke early in the morning to depart from Geneva for a short bus ride to the CERN particle collider ( It was a very interesting discussion lead by a retired professor that has worked there for 30 years.

Shown below is a snap shot of the "Atlas" control room of the super collider.

After our tour of the CERN super collider, we took a 4 hour total journey (by bus and train) to Zermatt ( We took in the sites of the city for an hour or two and the rest of the group spilt up and went for dinner.

Shown below is a memorial in Zermatt to Ulrich Inderbinen (, a famous mountain climber who climbed to the top of the Matterhorn over 370 times.
