We landed in Rome about 11am, local time. Since we couldn't check in to our hotel right away, we headed to our first site visit, the Ponte Fabricio. This bridge spans half the Tiber River, and it is the oldest Roman bridge still in use today! It was built in 62 B.C. and most of the original bridge structure exists.
Later, we headed to the Pantheon, which is the largest unreinforced concrete structure in the world.
And finally, we walked to the Trevi Fountain, where everyone threw coins over their shoulder for luck.
Tomorrow we head to Vatican City!
