Milano: Fashion, Sights, Gelato.

Greetings from Milan,

At 8:00AM, we depart from our hotel on a coach bus, destination: Milan. We drove past the scenic Emilia-Romagna during the first hour of the bus ride. The tunnels through the mountains, the beautiful view of Emilia-Romagna, and the city of Parma were the highlights of the bus ride to Milan.

Upon arrival and check-in at the our hotel, Hotel Una Century, we ventured to the Piazza del Duomo. The Duomo Cathedral, is a Gothic style cathedral and has a capacity to seat 40,000 person. It is the second largest cathedral in the world. We divided into smaller groups for lunch and regrouped to ascend to the top of the Duomo. At the roof of the cathedral, we were able to gaze over the city and the Alps through the abundant marble pinnacles and spires.

After the visit to the roof of the Duomo, we had a stroll through the famous Via della Spiga, which is a part of the quadrilatero della Spiga (fashion district). For the rest of the evening, we had the opportunity to break into smaller groups to explore the city.

We will be having a tour of the construction site for the Porta Nuova Garibaldi, a skyscraper in Milan. Ciao!
