First Day in Amman!

Today was the start of the work week in Jordan, so we went off to visit the company Oasis 500 and the Princess Sumaya University for Technology. In the afternoon, we also had a guest speaker from int@j before having free time to relax, shop, and explore Amman.

Made it to Jordan!

Today we had our last site visit in Israel before heading off to Jordan for the rest of the trip. We had the chance to visit a Kibbutz site and learn about how this community lives their life.

Caesarea and first night in Haifa!

We left Jerusalem today and headed out for the new sites of Haifa! Today we did it all, ranging from a historical site visit, having lunch on the beach, doing team building activities like the Israeli army does, and visiting a large corporation!

City of David

Today the group had a great time both touring the city and having company visits and guest lectures. The first stop of the day was the city of David, which is older than the Old City of Jerusalem.

First Day in Jerusalem

Today was our first full day in Jerusalem! We had a great time visiting the Israel Museum and walking around the Old City. Our guide Steve took us on the walk that Jesus made up till his death and we were able to visit the stop where the cross was and Jesus's tomb.

Shabbat Shalom!

We started off the day getting woken up by the sunlight shinning into our tent at about 6 a.m. Sleeping outside was extremely refreshing and the temperature at night was absolutely perfect! We had the pleasure of eating breakfast at the camp before filling up our water, packing up, and heading out for another packed day.

Today was our last day in Tel Aviv before heading out to different adventures. It is crazy how fast our time has gone here, but we are ready to experience a new place that is very different from the fast pace and city life of Tel Aviv!

Day Shnayim (two)!

Our first full day in Israel was definitely a busy one! We are still getting adjusted to the 8 hour difference here, but a good night of sleep at the hotel felt great. Everyone was up bright and early so we could grab a quick breakfast at the hotel before venturing out of Tel Aviv to explore the businesses of Israel.

Nearly 24 hours after our group of 20 students and two advisors met at the Minneapolis airport, the much anticipated day of traveling is complete and we have finally arrived in the beautiful city of Tel Aviv, Israel on May 21st, 2013!

MAY 20 - JUNE 5, 2013

Professor Marvin Marshak (physics) led his first group of students to Israel and Jordan during May Session 2010. His second seminar to Israel and Jordan in 2012 continued his exploration of the region, and blended students from both the Carlson School of Management and the College of Science and Engineering.The seminar continued the investigation of innovation, technology transfer, culture, and politics in the Middle East.
