The ITSS Phone/Network Team provides and maintains quality telecommunications and network products and services.
The team provides the campus wire and fiber backbone; the technical services related to the telecommunications area; the connectivity to the telephone and computing equipment in offices, residence halls, and remote sites; and long distance phone service.
From January 1 through July 31, 2013, the ITSS Phone/Network Team:
- attended to 527 customer service requests
- supported a telephone system that handled 910,205 telephone calls and 3075 telephone sets
- supported a network that is comprised of 14,040 switch ports, 905 wireless access points, 58 buildings, and 11 remote sites
- supported network connections for 3874 on-campus devices, 2578 residence hall ports, and 376 surveillance cameras
