Moodle provides the ability to use a variety of external tools.
What do Kaltura, TurnItIn, VoiceThread and other tools have in common with Moodle? They are all accessed via a Moodle course site. Not all educational technology options at UMN require a Moodle course site (e.g., MediaMill), but many are setup and accessed within Moodle.
You may choose to use a Moodle site just for one of these tools. For example, students may submit text documents using TurnItIn, or they could submit a variety of forms of media to discuss a topic in VoiceThread.
