The process of selecting web conferencing software is underway.
For many years we have been using UMConnect (Adobe Connect) at UMN as our web conferencing software. Faculty, staff and student users of UMConnect were contacted about their needs and frustrations with web conferencing software, and a group of faculty, staff and students helped narrow the results into the RFP requirements.
At the time this was written, a total of 13 vendors had indicated their intent to submit a proposal. By the middle of March, we should be able to review the proposals to choose which vendors will demonstrate their products. We will be seeking interested faculty, staff, and students to participate in these demonstrations.
The intent is for the chosen software to be in place by fall 2014.
