Requesting books from other U Libraries made easy

If you search in the University of Minnesota All Campuses Catalog and find a book, video or other material that you would like to borrow click on the Full View link and you will see a link ILL Request for U of M Crookston - Authentication required as one of the options at the top of the Full View record.

This link brings up the X.500 log in screen requiring your internet username and password. After you have logged in, click on Last Search (at the bottom of the screen) to relocate the record for the item you want to borrow.

This link generates an Interlibrary Loan request form for the book with your borrower information already filled in. You have to ok the copyright and provide a date not needed by and you are good to go.

The big advantage is that the form goes directly into the ILL system. Until now we have had to key requests even those submitted electroniclly into the ILL system. A seond advantage is that the interlibrary loan becomes part of your account on the system. You can view and manage ILL materials and we can send the same notices as for regular books.

This is a nice feature and at this time is available only to UMC patrons.
