Highspeed Document Scanner

The UMC Library has purchased and installed a 20 page per minute two sided scanner for scanning long documents into .pdf format. This scanner can make short work of scanning longer documents, everything from handouts from class that you would rather have in digital format to personal documents like estate planning documents and other legal documents. The software with the scanner does a reasonable job of OCR (optical character recognition) so the scanned documents are able to be searched.

This scanner is located on the first floor of the library. Basic instructions on operation are in a display next to the machine. Image of scanner
