New @ UMC Library

Hope your summer went well. As usual things are changing at the UMC Library. We will be installing new more powerful desktop computers soon and loading them with Adobe CS5 software well as the usual Microsoft products.

Almost all of the major online journals and databases have a new look more "Google" like and easier to use.

UMC Faculty, Staff and Students now have access to a new business database: eStatement Studies. It is used to compare one company's performance relative to other companies in the same line of business. It is useful for business valuations and benchmarking for business plans. You can create a Client Comparison Worksheet from the data.

The data is composite financial data from more than 190,000 anonymous financial statements of manufacturing, wholesaling, retailing, service, and contracting businesses operating in 600 industries.

Paper copies of Annual Statement Studies from1987 to present are available at the UMC Library Reference 338.09 R54a
