Many web pages recognize that your device is mobile and take you to the site's mobile page(s). Your mobile devise is generally accessing from your provider system which leaves you outside the UMC Library's IP address add denies you access

Two of our major vendors have solved this access problem in different ways:

EBSCOhost Mobile created a website that is modified to work with most mobile devices.

Gale AccessMyLibrary College Edition is an app that can be downloaded and installed on Android phones and on the iPhone and the iPad and iPod touch.

EBSCO has modified pages work on the iPhone, iPod Touch, IPAD, Android, BlackBerry, Dell Axim, and Palm 750h In fact they will generally with most Smartphones. There is an small icon on the UMC Library Database list which links to the Ebsco mobile site.

GALE's app AccessMyLibrary College Edition is available for iPhone®, iPod Touch® and iPad® Library Resources on Mobile Device

UMC Library has acquired two Kindle electronic book readers from Amazon and added them to the Library collection. We have a Library Kindle page which gives the details about this experiment.

Currently we have drafted a few students to test them for us. We have a signup sheet at the Circulation Desk for anyone who wants to try these readers out for a few days (3 or 4) and give us feedback. Next semester we will use a four week loan, which is the same as our other books

There is a place on the signup sheet for your suggestion of a book or books you would like to read on the Kindle or send your recommendations to us Books for Kindle?
