Here's a round up of recent library news stories that might be of interest to you.

Springer E-Books Print-on-Demand Deal

Currently the library's have a subscription with Springer e-books that gives us access to every book published by Springer from 2005-present in an electronic format. You can search for available titles in our online catalog or SpringerLink.

Springer is now offering a deal to our library users where if you find an electronic book that you find really useful and want to order a print copy...they'll print you a copy and bind it for $24.95 including shipping. A much reduced rate than purchasing a full price book!

Since the book is for your personal collection you have to pay...but it might be a money saver for you. When you're in SpringerLink just look for this link

The Library on Your Mobile Device
Library programmer, John Barneson, has developed a more mobile friendly web site for your smart phone or iPod Touch.

You can check it out by visiting the mobile site at http://www.lib.umn.edu/mobile/ or typing http://www.lib.umn.edu/ into your mobile device.

Library Hours on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Monday, January 18)

The library will have reduced hours on Monday in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The library will be open from 12-6 and there will be no reference service.

Starting on Tuesday we'll resume regular semester hours.
