Local student is rewarded for her research

Hannah Borowsky has been rewarded for her research on teen attitudes toward smoking with a $35,000 scholarship.
According to The Star Tribune, Borowsky won for scientific research in the Young Epidemiology Scholars Competition.
It was a pretty good story, that seemed interesting and had a few good quotes.
What I thought was most interesting in this story is that it was written by a University of Minnesota student.
She was on assignment for the Star Tribune so it was very technical and had the quote at the end, and the quote towards the beginning as a money quote.
She was using what she had been learning in her story.

Boy dies after fight

17-year-old Marquise Woodbury was killed while trying to flee gunfire with other young people after a party ended and a fight broke out in Brooklyn Park.
According to The Star Tribune no arrests have been made but police say that the killing is currently under investigation.
The story by the Tribune was a very thorough story that was a good length and detailed what had happened in the killing.
They had a few quotes but it would have been better with a little more, but they ended with a good quote saying that the kids in the area should learn from what had happened.

Abuse case moves forward in Vatican politics

Two former Mexican seminarians had gone to the Vatican in 1998 delivering a case saying that there had been decades of sexual abuse by one of the most powerful priests in the Roman Catholic Church, the Rev. Marcial Maciel Degollado.
According to The New York Times, the sex scandal case has been going on for a long time at the Vatican Church and it just seems to be moving forward into new discoveries.
The story by the Times was a very long story that discussed all of the issues the Vatican has been facing in this sex scandal.
I thought it was a very good investigative story that had a lot of good quotes and it ended with a great quote too.
The story ended letting the readers decide what they should believe.

Efforts to revive Greece in Debt could be stalled

Paris, Greece is bankrupt and signed a financial bailout deal with the European Union and the International Monetary Fund.
According to The New York Times, people are afraid they won't be able to ever get out of their debt.
Although people are afraid, some government officials say that there is still hope for Greece and their financial troubles.
The story by the Times was full of quotes and that helped to keep it interesting and also to verify that it was investigated very thoroughly.
It was a good story and it started out with what people are having troubles with and then ended with hope and a quote that really brought it back together in the end.

Police seeking man at Bomb scene

According to The New York Times, the police were looking over the surveillance footage of the failed car bomb found in Times Square on Saturday night, and they saw a white man about in his 40s walking away from the scene looking over his shoulder and removed a layer of clothing.
The police said that if the bomb went off, there would have been some broken windows and some people would have been killed but no buildings would have collapsed.
Although polce have discovering new things on the surveillance footage they have not however came to any conclusions on who was involved in the incident.
The article by the Times was a very thourough discription of the survelliance videos they had been looking at.
The article also was good at describing the situatuon and what was going on currently with the bombing.
I think it was a good article and it had a lot of good quotes to keep it moving and to keep it interesting.
