Artist Dialogue -
Thursday, April 8, 6-7pm at the Duluth Art Institute in the Depot
The public is invited to an artist dialogue with
Artist/Educator Sarah Brokke centered on the work in the exhibition,
"Ripple Effect: The Art of Creative Influence." The moderated
discussion will be held in the John Steffl Gallery at the DAI in the St. Louis
County Heritage & Arts Center, also known as the Depot.
Ripple
Effect: The Art of Creative Influence
Exhibition runs through May 14, 2010
Since 2005,
Sarah Brokke has participated with the Duluth Art Institute as both an exhibiting
artist and as a teacher in our education program. Her classes have garnered a
loyal following of students who have, through her tutelage, become artists in
their own right. While these newly formed artists have their own artistic
voices, they also have been influenced by the distinct style of their teacher.
The present exhibition will highlight Sarah's work alongside the work of
her most advanced students and present what could well be called the
"Brokke School" of Painting.
