One of my favorite shows when I was growing up was Sid and Marty Krofft's Land of the Lost. It was a children's adventure program about a dad and his two children who find themselves suddenly swept into a strange prehistoric world inhabited by dinosaurs, primitive people, and dangerous creatures known as Sleestak. The Sleestak scared the bejeesus out of me at the time. At about 7 feet tall, the Sleestak loomed, uttering a strange hissing language as they menaced the show's heroes.
I sometimes like to find leadership lessons in unusual places. Looking for leadership lessons through the lens of unexpected sources can be interesting and insightful. Last year, I shared a few lessons that carry great leadership lessons.
So in that light, let me share three leadership lessons from the Sleestak in Land of the Lost, in the original language of the Sleestak:
- Sssssssss ssssssss ssssss ssss ssssssssss!
- Sssszzz zz hissssss hissssssssss!
- Ssssss SSSSSSSSSSS sssssss!
Truly, these are great lessons.
(And on a possibly related note, today is April 1.)
