The Vet said...

Joan took me into the vet this morning. I do not like that place. The only saving grace is that they have treats there for me. I had 5 or 6!

The vet heard my tree collision story and then looked at my leg. He stuck a needle in my protruding bump and drew out a lot of reddish pus etc. (I know it is gross!). I didn't feel a thing. He then said that I have a "seroma" which is liquid that develops in the space behind the skin - or something like that - and it will take some time to go away, maybe even a month. Joan has to put hot compresses on it until it goes away.

He also is making me take antibiotics for 2 weeks. He said that if I lick it a lot, I will open it up and then I'll have to have anesthesia (read: $$$) for them to fix it. Therefore, he warned that if I lick it, I will have to wear a cone. So far, I have not licked it since I got home from the vet. I'm going to take a nap now since it has already been a busy day.

Hi Bosco,

I really like reading about your adventures. So glad you weren't hurt badly! You should be more careful with your doggie parts. I'm Baby and I'm a lab mix, too but I look A LOT different than you. I live in WI so we are practically neighbors.

Hope you had fun in Madison, even if it wasn't too dog friendly for you. I'm surprised, since a lot of the state parks in the Madison area are puppy friendly and some even have designated doggie swim areas!

Stop by my blog sometime! Happy playing!
