Assimilation 4.0

I went to a soccer game with my friend David on Saturday. As he introduced me to people, without thinking I greeted someone with, "How ya goin'?" This is exciting because in the States we either say, "How are you doing?" or "How is it going?" but Aussies say, "How are you going?" This was the first time I used the Aussie way completely naturally. I got really excited after I realized I said it but didn't mention it to them in case it ruined the moment. ☺

i know what you mean with this steph, today at worked someone said thank you and i responded "cheers" but also i got a few kiwis saying "ya you betcha"

I think the Aussies have some of the most colourful sayings, and I don't mean rude in this context. Coupled with a strong accent, you don't know what on earth they're on about half the time!
