Chicago Marathon causes death of one runner

The heat during Sunday's Chicago Marathon caused the death of one marathon runner and the medical treatment of nearly 300 others according to CNN. The marathon was shut down just four hours after the start because of the dangerous 88-degree heat.
The Star Tribune described the weather as muggy and they reported that Kenya's Patrick Ivuti won the Chicago Marathon by a fraction of a second. The man who died was 35-year-old Chad Schieber of Midland, Mich. He collapsed during the marathon and was later pronounced dead around 1 p.m.
