Blogs Count

Well... this blogging has been a giant experiment this semester... I wanted to see if we could use Movable Type blogs as a way to document the progress made in each of my classes: Graphic Design 1, Graphic Design 2, Digital Studio 1 (day class + night class) Digital Studio 2 (a few advanced students). Rather than having students turning in work only to the teacher for approval, I hoped that they would begin to share + dialog with each other along the way. The students who took the time to log in and update their blogs regularly have an interesting record of their work. This is casual, reflective writing... something that educators concur is a useful tool in learning. Students who haven't kept up with their blogs (journals really) will need to really jam now. It's part of the grade for the semester, + counts as much as any other project!
