FALL 2005 Syllabus

2D DIGITAL STUDIO COURSES>>>
provide a learning laboratory for digital artmaking + new media processes from brainstorming through digital output.

Students will expand both subject and content of their art-making by experimenting with 2d digital media... investigating mosaic + sequential formats, creative rule-making and rule-breaking, digital sketching, image and sound sampling, and interactive design. Students will be encouraged to mix media, taking clues from a rich tradition of avant guard experiments and current trends in film, new media, installation, performance, digital narrative and web-based art forms. All projects will incorporate digital tools in their process and use digital media as the delivery format. Students will produce at least one of their projects in a format suitable for viewing on the web. The class establishes a collaborative learning environment, wherein all participants will take turns sharing their expertise and discoveries in a laboratory of emerging technologies.
