IM Reference Service

Greetings!

Students, faculty and staff are invited to instantly communicate with a
librarian at the UMD Library Reference Desk via our new Instant Messaging
(IM) "Plugoo" widget

(see http://www.d.umn.edu/lib/askus/index.htm)

during hours that the desk is open. The Library monitored six Instant
Messaging networks for the past 18 months (and will continue to do so), but
now people are not required to be a member of an IM network. No logins, just
type your questions in the chat window in the upper right corner of the
page. Library assistance is now just a few keystrokes away!
