Lego Jesus Appears in Sweden

Parishioners in Sweden unveiled a Jesus made out of Lego's for Easter Sunday, AP reports.

The Lego Jesus was made out of 30,000 bricks donated by parishioners of Oensta Gryta Church in Vaesteras, Swedent said pastor Per Wilder, AFP reports.

The Jesus is almost six feet tall and took 40 volunteers 18 months to finish.

The model was based on Bertel Thorvaldsens's 19th century work "Christus," which depicts the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Wilder said the church had no plans to sell the statue.

"It is a fantastic installation and it will be there as long as we think it is in a good spot," he said.
