Do your students use Wikipedia?

Do you think your students use Wikipedia? Do you tell them not to use Wikipedia? Do you talk to them about how to use it correctly?

What do you think?

I tell my students that encyclopedias, including Wikipedia can be useful starting points for college-level researchers to get an overview of a topic, to get a sense of the history and the current debates, and to get leads on important scholarly works and more specific sources. So I encourage my student to use Wikipedia much the way that students in the video say they do, wiht a bit more skepticism than a traditionally published encyclopedia. However, if they do directly use information from Wikipedia, I would want them to cite it.
