Six people were killed Sunday morning when a sports utility vehicle crashed into a guardrail, flipped over and fell into a swampy pond in northeast Ohio, news sources said.
The Honda Passport was speeding when it veered to the left of the road and crashed, the CBS News reported. There was a total of eight teenagers inside the car.
Investigators said the car sunk into the swamp with five people trapped in the car, all of whom died, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. A sixth was found under the car when it was taken out of the water. The two survivors called 911 after they escaped the car.
A makeshift memorial was erected around the crash site for the families and friends of the victims, news sources said.
