Nicole: The photos you chose were lovely and really drew me in to your story.

I liked your question about text messaging--whether it was personal or not. Also, what if it were and you wanted to keep the message. I worry about the lack of archiving e-mail and other electronic communication creates. Do you hold onto or even print out meaningful e-mails? My parents have a stack of letters from when they were first engaged. I have nothing like that (but I did not have a long-distance relationship with my husband either.)

However, the phone works the same way--does anyone who is not cooperating with an investigation record phone calls? In those you just have to be in the moment and enjoy what it is, I guess. One thing that I find disconcerting about cell phones is how willing people are to be holding a conversation while they are doing other things (like driving or shopping). It's great that we are a multi-tasking society, but I like to have the full attention of the person I am calling.
