I came across this website by doing a search on my favorite band, Metallica-which is funny to me since they were the biggest voice to oppose Napster (but now have changed their minds and are available to download on iTunes, yeah!).

I believe the reason Metalica has changed their minds in this situation is that with Napster, they were not seeing any profits at all, but instead their profits were slipping away. However, with iTunes, they are recieving a certain amount for every song of their that is downloaded. They see that this is the way consumers want their music today, so why not jump on the band wagon and make some money. Their decision was made for monetary reasons only.

It is interesting the quick turnaround when it comes to the almighty dollar. I know all of a sudden my son and his friends all have "every song that Metallica did!" Yeah...right.

This all sounds great and everything, but why can't the government step in and intervene with this program as well. I understand that it is hard to "find" what you, but there is always a way that people can find you with the new technology that is appearing each year.
