I did use audacity, I thought it was really simple. After making and editing my clip, I exported it as an MP3 to save on my computer (and audacity is picky about where you put it, it wouldn't let me save it on my desktop until I deleted a bunch of stuff) then found switchpod, uploaded it there and it was really simple.

I also agree that this concept would help us greatly at the U specifically. We spend more than the average college student sitting on the bus or walking to class and if we could use something like Podcasts to use this time towards learning this would be quite monumental. I do have to admit that I personally enjoy using this time to listen to my music however. I also wanted to agree with your comment on that you would never think that an MTV VJ would invent something so huge.
