UMN Medical School admissions
There is a change in the medical school application process.
The University of Minnesota Medical School has two campuses: Minneapolis and Duluth. The Medical School is based in Minneapolis where students may explore specialties and subspecialties, engage in research, and pursue a joint degree. The Duluth program has a unique mission to train family medicine physicians for rural Minnesota and Native American communities. Beginning with the 2009-2010 application cycle the two campuses will use a single AMCAS school code. Each campus will continue to have its own separate supplemental application process.
Applicants to the University of Minnesota Medical School will apply using the following steps:
- Applicants will designate the University of Minnesota Medical School on their AMCAS application.
- The applicants will receive an e-mail with a link to a site where they will indicate whether they are interested in the Duluth program, the Minneapolis program, or both.
- The applicants will subsequently be directed to the supplemental application for one or both programs, depending on the initial selection.
- From this point, the application process will continue as it has in the past for each campus.
If you have questions, please feel free to contact the Admissions Office at either the Twin Cities or Duluth campus.
