Numerous formats (ACS, CBE, AIP, APA, Chicago, etc.) are provided, and several databases have direct Refworks export functionality built-in. The downloadable Write-N-Cite utility allows users to add citations from their RefWorks database to a manuscript with one click. Free access to RefWorks is available to all UofM-affiliated users.

There are several online RefWorks video tutorials describing how to use this resource. UofM Libraries also provides hands-on training workshops (both basic and advanced) each semester.

The Journals can be searched either indivdually or collectively, and impact factor data is provided for most of the 31 titles. Article titles in the journal current issues can be quickly viewed with one click, and RSS feeds are provided for automatic article updates. The site has a three-part knowledgebase (biology, bioinformatics, informatics) with glossary-style definitions and links to relevant datatabases (such as Entrez Gene, EMBL-EBI, Cambridge Structural Database, etc.; note that not all the databases are free). There is also a bioinformatics conference list and a forum for user questions and suggestions.

The PubMed bookmarklet allows you to search the PubMed/Medline database for articles without having to navigate to its website. Articles in the search results will have the FindIt link so that you can locate the full text. You can use boolean operators and search field tags in the bookmarklet search field in the same way as with the website's search interface.
