BAGHDAD -- Near the city of Falluja, officials said seven Iraqis were killed during an early morning raid by American and Iraqi security forces on Wednesday.
Despite the United States stating an official end to combat on Aug. 31, the United States military said the Iraqi military had "planned and led" the "joint counterterrorism" operation.
Around 4,500 Special Operation troops out the 50,000 United States troops, which still remain in Iraq, are still pursuing insurgent leaders and suspected members of armed groups.
However, there is a discrepancy between The New York Times and USA Today as to what time the raid started, but both said early morning times.
