PORT-AU-PRINCE-- Ending his bid for Haiti's presidency, hip-hop star Wyclef Jean announced his concession last Tuesday.
Jean said he would not challenge an electoral commission that considered him unqualified to run in the Nov. 28 race reported The New York Daily News.
"This was not an easy conclusion to reach," Jean said, "but it is one that as thoughtfully made."
USA Today said that a statement sent Tuesday by his publicist said, "the singer is leaving Haitian politics to promote a new album."
"If I Were President, the Haitian Experience" Jean's newest album will be released February 2011.
