Man attacks wife near U of M campus

A man with a knife attacked a woman Wednesday evening near the University of Minnesota campus, police said.

The suspect did not demand or take any valuables from the young woman. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is expected to survive, police told the Star Tribune.

The woman told police she was attacked from behind at in the 500 block of Huron Boulevard, between Fulton and Essex Streets on the southeast edge of the Minneapolis campus at 7:30 p.m.

The attacker is described as a white man in his early 20s wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with the hood up. He was between 5-feet 11 inches and 6-feet 2-inches tall, police told KSTP.
