Vegetarian

I feel that vegetarians should not persuade others to adopt their ways. I hate how they are always trying to make me stop eating meat. I’m perfectly fine with them doing whatever they want. If they think it’s better for the world to not eat animals so be it, but don’t force me to change.
Take deer for example if we didn’t hunt and eat them they would over-populate the earth. There would not be enough room for everyone. The deer would need to eat, as would the humans, therefore we would all be competing for the same vegetation. Shortly leaving nothing for anyone.

I agree! Pressuring someone else to change their ways can often make an individual more likely to rebel against a particular view. It’s perfectly fine if vegetarians make the choice to not eat meat but I happen like a good cheeseburger once and a while. I can understand the values of vegetarians, because some animals are mistreated while making the food that you and I eat everyday, but please respect me as I try and do to you.

I couldn't agree more. I'm a vegetarian, but I find it annoying that the groups here on campus seem to be recruiting. They're almost as bad as Christians.

OK, I can totally see where you guys are coming from, but being sterotypical is just as bad as pushing your views on someone. Not all vegetarians and Christians fulfill the sterotypical character that you guys are describing. Being sterotypical has brought more problems than solutions in the past. Would you rather be known as stereotypical or judgemental?

WHOA! Hold up! You CAN NOT compare vegetarians to Christians. I think you may have been comparing the way they both seem to do a lot of recruting, but even in that case, they are two totally different things. Being a vegetarian is more of a "health" issue, if you know what I mean. Being a Christian however, takes on two different forms. There are "Christians" and there are Christians. "Christians" believe in Christ, and Christians (true Christians) do as Christ. Being recruited as a veg. would have a much different impact on your life than being recruited as a Christian would. Yes, I think it's wrong how people try to push you into doing or believing something, but eating and religion are two completely different things.

Alright. Well first off I am never pushed to be a vegetarian because most of the people that know me well can say that I am a complete carnivore as most guys are. Being a vegetarian doesn't really prove anything in my eye. Look at the animals in the wild. If wolves did not eat meat such as that of deer, there woulud surely be an overpopulation of deer. The deer have adapted to the changes in nature and in response produce more efficiently. Its a simple principle of evolution to evolve over time and adjust. Animals adjust to predation and produce more offspring to ensure succession.
