And boy does she love it! She figured out almost immediately to open that little mouth as the spoon got closer and only a little gets pushed back out at us. Of course she likes to be in control of it so she has to hold the spoon as it goes into her mouth or sometimes we give her her own spoon to hold. This morning as Aaron fed her, she would laugh in between bites. It's very exciting. Tomorrow I think we'll try squash.
Here's a movie of her eating: Download file

We went to a school holiday party last weekend where Mia got to wear her new dress I made her. It came out pretty well, although I need to shorten it a bit because Mia can't kick her legs around in it very well.

We put up our Christmas tree last weekend and had to dress Mia appropriately, of course, so here she is in her snowpal hat. Grammy got it for her last Christmas - sadly, it's a little small, but it works okay.

Mia was quite curious about the ornaments and wanted to put all of them in her mouth. I let her touch one with glitter on it and of course when I wasn't paying attention she got it in her mouth. Fortunately it didn't seem to do much harm. As you can tell by this picture though, she wasn't so sure about the tree itself. She seems to like the lights, but the feel of the tree isn't so great.

Here we all are after we finished decorating.

Mia has been taking a bath every night lately and she loves it. She can be as fussy as a baby can be and we put her in the bath and poof, pure happiness. She especially thinks Daddy is funny when she is in the bath. Actually, lately she just thinks Daddy is funny no matter where she is. It's very adorable when Aaron comes home from work - she gets so excited and bounces around in my arms and giggles and smiles trying to get him to come take her up in his arms.
We think Mia looks a bit like Curly reincarnated here. She doesn't sleep much, but she sure is a happy baby. Mia and I have started going to a baby and mommy group. We've gone twice so far. Mia loves all of the activity and the babies and is getting very interested in trying to touch and grab the other babies - it's a lot of fun.
Mia is working very hard at sitting up. She's getting pretty good at it and can sit without support for 30-45 seconds. She's definitely getting closer to rolling over from her back to stomach too - she now gets her body turned all the way over, but then isn't sure what to do with her arm underneath her and so she flips back.
I've been going to school a bit more regularly and so have set up a portable crib there so hopefully Mia can nap while we're there. I know that's a dream since she doesn't really nap anywhere. She does love the toy bar on it and will play happily for 30 minutes in it so I guess that's something.
Here is Mia with one of her new favorite toys - don't worry, we keep close watch so she doesn't gag or poke her eye with the other end.
Here's a picture of Mia on her 5 month birthday in one of the new outfits her Grammy bought her. Mia loves the ribbon on the top of her shirt and thinks it great to have something so near to chew on.
We had a big crowd at Thanksgiving - Aaron's parents and grandmother and my mom and my brother - and had a great time. I'm not sure Mia ever got put down but she loved all of the attention.
We had our first real snowfall. Mia loved being outside as long as Ella was there. She giggled and giggled watching Ella run back and forth chasing snow.
Mia finally fits into her second hand knit sweater made by our cousin Erin. It's very adorable and started fitting just in time for the very cold weather.
