We took Mia to the fair today. She had a great time. She was a little wary of the large size of the cows, but fascinated and she got to pet a baby pig and a lamb. And the food was the best - corn dogs, snow cones, chocolate chip cookies, lemonade, yummy!
Mia loved this band from Equador - we sat there for probably 45 minutes and between each song, she asked for more and often clapped at the end of the song. She was especially interested in the wind instruments.
Mia loves to play in her sandbox and in the swing in the backyard lately. At least once a day she asks to go out back. Here's a movie of her swinging with Dada.
And she mostly keeps the pigtails in, better than barettes anyway. I don't know why, but I just can't bring myself to cut her hair so I'm hoping this will work! I can't believe how grown-up she looks though, such a toddler. I love her toddlerness, I really do, the fierceness and indpendence and amazing kindness and gentleness she shows towards others, but I miss her babyness.
We didn't love this look so much, although of course she is always cute.
I took Mia to the farmer's market with Amanda this week. We had a very nice day! Mia loved the blackberries and ate practically half of a pint and thoroughly enjoyed the raspberry scone too. And she didn't even mind too much being trapped in her stroller for most of the day, although this picture was taken shortly after she was released from the stroller and she was quite thrilled with her freedom.
