Dynasty Warriors 6 Special PS2 news
KOEI has shocked the world and is releasing Dynasty Warriors 6 for the Playstation 2. The PS2 version of Dynasty Warriors 6 Special is going to provide new weapons / musou modes for characters such as Cao Pi, Ling Tong and Ma Chao.
Ling Tong has his classic nunchucks, Cao Pi has a longsword and Ma Chao has a Buster Sword type weapon. We had speculated that there would be more Dynasty Warriors 6 characters with their original weapons, but I had thought this would be done in Dynasty Warriors 6 XL
Gamers who bought Dynasty Warriors 6 already may be upset especially those who bought a PS3 or Xbox360 just to play it! However Dynasty Warriors 6 for PS2 opens the game up to many more households as the amount of PS2 consoles in North American homes is probably close to Xbox360 + Ps3 combined.
It remains to be seen when Dynasty Warriors 6 Special is released and if there are new Dynasty Warriors 6 unlockable characters. Rest assured we'll keep you updated.

I've tried DW3 or DW2 I think, I'm not aware that this is a RPG?!? I just get so confused when I had to run around the fields and fight all the different troops. Oy. Maybe I'll give this a shot since you mentioned that are loads of extras!

hehe...yea Dynasty Warriors is not really an RPG. It has RPG elements with the character development, finding weapons / items, etc. But I just love the series so it's on here...
Hopefully you played DW3! That one still has the best gameplay in my humble opinion - the newer Dynasty Warriors have trouble with difficulty balance and keeping the game fresh for each character. That said Dynasty Warriors 6 is a step in the right direction so I'd pick it up on Ps3 / xbox360 (or wait until the PS2 version is out with more features). Lots of extras indeed to keep you playing for a long while.

I Agree with you... dW3 is the best gameplay still.. but i love to play all the others too.. i cant wait for dw6 special.. mostly i want all the clones of the warriors gone but also cause it gives me another dw game... ill be waiting patiently for this game to come out!!!

DW3 is best. Agreed though, the others are fun too.
It would be great to have all the clones gone. I would love to see some of the classic weapons restored like Zhang He's claws and Ling Tong's nunchucks, etc. We'll see, sounds like just a few characters have been noted as having a Musou Mode (Ma Chao and Cao Pi are two of them I know). It's still a bit away...
Do you already own the game on PS3 or Xbox360?

Heheh I'm so happy that is going to happen. I have every single game not the one for the Playstation the first one. But I'm so happy that is coming to the Playstation 2. :D

I cannot wait for this game either. More new weapons / movesets / musou modes.
It is a big plus this is on PS2. The game does not require the use of a next gen system, and so many more people can try out DW6 now.

i only have DW2,3,4XL,5
and also Samurai Warriors 2
which is completley differet except for the gameplay, i mean, you can have your horse jump and kill people!

Which is completely different? Samurai Warriors from Dynasty Warriors? I haven't played Samurai Warriors at all though it seems very similar.
Yea the tiger animations are a little different in DW6.

Dynasty Warrios : Special Was Relaeased on November 18th and featured Musou Modes for the following characters: Ling Tong, Ma Chao, Cao Pi, Yue Ying, Zhange He ,and Taishi Ci.
The Game ALso Features new weapons for the six characters . Yue Ying had a bow and her weapon was changed to a bladed bow, next taishi ci had a pole arm and it was then changed to battle rods, Ling Tong had also a pole axe but then his wepon was changed to a three sectioned staff, Ma Chao was given a giant Sword and cao pi was given a long sword . and as you would've guessed Zhange He got his claws Back.
the game also features new movesets for the six individual characters.
the game has many of the ps3 feature but the only downside is the graphic quality though the game is simply amazing at the least the graphics are what you'd expect for a Ps2 game . many of the features of the PS3 game have been added to the game.(Swimming,Climbing,Renbu System)So i Give the a 10 0ut of 5 which is amazing

How do you jump with a horse in Dynasty Warriors 6?????
Everyone's all like, "Oh yeah, jumping with a horse in DW6 is great!!" And i'm all like... WTF?!!?!

I think one of the R buttons does it, R1 or R2. That's for PS3 though. Not sure what console you are playing on.
Jumping off a cliff with a horse is fun, saves a lot of time at places like Guan Du.
