Suikoden Tierkreis Zodiac release on DS

Suikoden fans around the world received great news with the recent Famitsu magazine. Suikoden Tierkreis was recently trademarked by Konami America, and low and behold they have confirmed plans to release Genso Suikoden Tierkreis on Nintendo DS. Suikoden had not been heard of since Suikoden V was released in April 2006.

Suikoden Tierkreis means Suikoden Zodiac (Tierkreis = Zodiac in German). As usual, it provides many of the things past Suikoden's have, such as several races along with the 108 stars. A new Popas race has been confirmed. Though if you read closely there seems to be something different about the 108 stars in this one; they do not share the same fate as the previous 5 sets of 108 stars.

Battle screens have shown that there are 4 members in the party, much to the chagrin of Suikoden lovers. This is a step back to the days of Suikoden IV, and the main issue with having just 4 characters in battle is that with 108 characters it is hard to develop said character's even with 6 characters in your party. Having 4 limits your flexibility, though there is said to be an Alpha position for a fifth character. Maybe this is similar to the support character's of past Suiko's? Character's are said to have their own unique abilities in battle, along with of course unite attacks.

Can't wait for this. Just glad something is going on with Suikoden!

Which one is your favorite? Definitely the older ones for me, probably #2!
