Within the first few sentences of reading "The Awakening Internet" I knew that this would be a fun read because not only does it relate to Computer Science (my major), but it appeals to most men by incorporating technology and the threat of nuclear attack. Relating to the fact that the article coincided with my major, I think that this piece of literature taught me some facts about how this large infrastructure we created was developed.
Similarly to the assigned chapters in "Cyberliteracy," "The Awakening Internet" partly focused on the dangers that online communication could have on the world. One example I thought was very interesting was the discussion a few professors had on the concept of viral computation in which one computer could force another distant computer to do calculations. While I love technology, this information does caution me a little about what the future could hold for technology.
