An Alabama university professor charged with fatally shooting her colleagues in a faculty meeting Friday shot her younger brother dead at their Boston home in 1986.
Amy Bishop shot her brother in the chest, according to Fox News.
Before bishop could be booked, however, the police chief back then called officers and told them to release her to her mother.
The shooting of the brother was logged as an accident, but since then, detailed records of the incident have disappeared, according to The New York Times.
