Woman, 42, rescued from Hugo pond dies

A Lino Lakes woman who was rescued Saturday from an SUV that had plunged into a Washington County pond died later in the day at a hospital.
Sheriff's deputies were called at 1:36 p.m. to Oneka Parkway and Frenchman Road in Hugo, where they found the vehicle underwater, according to the Star Tribune.
The Washington County dive team was called in, and rescue workers were able to pull Debbie Joy Porterfield, 42, from the 2000 Ford Explorer, according to the Pioneer Press.
Porterfield was taken by ambulance to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where she died.
