Not that there isn't anything else photogenic in Milwaukee... but this is an absolutely stunning addition to their art museum. This photo shows the "wings" in the open position.

After 1-1/2 days of indoor conference sessions and dreary overcast weather, I jumped at the chance to run this afternoon when it was sunny and warm.
It was a good decision.

This is a really cool sculpture on the east bank river bluff, by the U's new Education and Human Development building. It's made of two large boulders, but each one has a flat mirrored surface, and these face each other. I'm standing in between them.
One of the reasons I really like this sculpture is that its irregular edges remind me of the Aalto Savoy vase, one of the Finnish designs that I studied while in graduate school (focusing on the fusion of natural and Modernist forms).
