Bio

Kris directs a team of five people who manage and produce web, database, and online collaboration projects for two Senior Vice Presidents at the University of Minnesota. He also works with other units including University Relations, the Design Institute, Office for Information Technology, and College of Liberal Arts. He is an adjunct faculty member of the University’s new College of Design (Design, Housing, and Apparel).

Kris is also currently the director of MinneWebCon, the University of Minnesota’s annual Web Standards and Accessibility conference that he founded in 2008 with seven of his colleagues. This conference is an outgrowth of a related initiative, the University’s Web Standards & Accessibility Workgroup, which meets monthly and is open to the public.

Kris has a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Minnesota’s Graduate School, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN. Prior to accepting his current position in 2004, his prior eleven years of work as a designer included consulting, management, academic advising, and education. Previous employers include the Department of Design, Housing, and Apparel, Woolpert Consulting (Dayton, OH), and Bentz / Thompson / Rietow Architects (Minneapolis).
