2. Welcome Week
How can we be indispensable to students? To campus? I have volunteered for Convocation for the last couple of years and enjoyed it very much--generally I have been holding a sign for a specific college or directing students around Mariucci...and them I have enjoyed hearing the band and listening to speeches (but often you can go when you need to)....

Volunteers are needed to assist with several elements of the Welcome Week 2011 program. Join us in making the University of Minnesota a warm and friendly place for new students. A few hours of your time could have a tremendous impact.
Opportunities include:
- Residence Hall Move-In (Aug. 29-31)
Greet students and parents, guard belongings, or help with traffic flow. - New Student Convocation (Sept. 1)
This campus tradition kicks off the first morning of Welcome Week. All first-year students are required to attend. We need greeters, section guides, and direction providers. - Class of 2015 Cookout (Sept. 2)
We need food servers, line managers, direction providers, and greeters.
