Interstate is 50

The Interstate Highway System turns 50 this month and there are some interesting blogs about people part of the celebratory convoy. It was amusing to read about the RV industry's difficulties maintaining the route on time (problems with weather, permits, etc.). Even something this well-planned goes awry, though things are certainaly better than when Eisenhower tried his convoy after World War I.

We have done our own celebrations of the interstate with a trip to Pittsburgh at the beginning of the month, and Kansas City on Friday for Scott Benolkin's wedding this weekend.

Scott annoyingly received perfect scores on both the ACT and SAT in 1998, attended the University of Minnesota, played a convincing game of quizbowl, and is now at the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City.

Happy wedding Scott ... Photo of Scott Benolkin
