Summary publication and citation statistics during the years 1981-2004 that reflect research performance by 112 Institutions or 295 institutions. Includes 24 broad fields in the sciences and social sciences and 96 narrower fields in the sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities corresponding to ISI Current Contents categories. Individual papers were divided into fields on the basis of the journal in which the paper appeared. Papers appearing in the multidisciplinary science journals Science, Nature, and Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA (PNAS) were reassigned to specific categories.
