A nightclub fire killed more than 230 people in Santa Maria, Brazil early Sunday,Associated Press reported appeared in Pioneer Press.
The fire was caused by the burning of Kiss nightclub pyrotechnic show ignited insulation material, reported by CNN. When the foam started melting, the club reached double of its capacity and had only one exit.
The nightclub failed to provide working fire alarm and proper fire escape, Associated Press reported.
Brazilian police officers arrested three suspects and is currently investigating on the forth person who might be responsible for the fire.
Kiss nightclub looked "like a war zone" after the fire burned out, said state lawmaker Valderci Oliveira.
The club owner and co-owners are currently under investigation and funerals for the victims were held on Monday, according to CNN.
