New Blog Format for HSLM Newsletter

HSLM Colleagues,

At the November 2007 HSLM Board meeting, the Board voted to cease the print publication of the Health Informer in favor of creating it solely within the blog format.

Posting content to the blog has numerous benefits, one of which is a blog offers a timely way to stay current on what is going on within the HSLM community.

In the past, the print publication of the HI had a specific format it followed with sections such as Notes From the Chair, HSLM News, Library News, Member News, and Opportunities. These headers can easily be recreated as blog categories for future postings.

I'd like to get some feedback from HSLM members on how they would prefer to stay current on new items posted to the blog. One option would be to send all HSLM members an email notification when something new is posted, or another way is to sign up to the blog's RSS feed (located on the right side of the screen under Links). Please feel free to drop me an email (lmcguire@umn.edu) or post a comment to this message via the blog on your preference.

The HSLM blog will only be relevant for our users if users come forward to tell us about what is going on with your library! This is an open call for everyone to contribute to the content. Email me your posting --- it can be about news from your library, your own presentations or published papers, job opportunities, etc.
